Sadhu Vaswani Mission
The Sadhu Vaswani Mission is a world renowned humanitarian organisation with its headquarters located in Pune, the cultural capital of Maharashtra and its centres all over India as well as in the Eastern and Western hemispheres. The Mission strives to serve humanity in various fields-educational, medical, social, cultural and spiritual.
The Mission was founded by Sadhu T.L. Vaswani in 1931, in Hyderabad-Sind and was then called the"Sakhi Satsang".The partition of India in 1947 compelled Sadhu T.L. Vaswani to leave Sind and to restart his noble work in India. In 1950, Sadhu Vaswani resumed his sacred work of service to the community, this time under the name of the "Brotherhood Association",which grew from strength to strength. In 1966,Sadhu Vaswani dropped his physical body and the Association was renamed as Sadhu Vaswani Mission. As you enter the city of Pune, just a short distance from the Railway Station, you will be greeted by an imposing 10 ft. bronze statue of Sadhu Vaswani, welcoming one and all to the historic city which he made his home and the centre for all his venerable activities in India. The statue confers blessings and inspiration to hundreds of people who pass by the square and the busy road that is named after him today. The Mission campus is situated on a spacious three-acre plot in the heart of Pune and attracts thousands of devotees from all over the world, who regard it as a place of pilgrimage.
If the vision and the inspiration for founding such an organisation came from Sadhu Vaswani, the tremendous growth and the dynamism of its multifarious activities today is entirely due to the glorious leadership of Dada J.P Vaswani, to whom the Master bequeathed his luminous spiritual heritage.
